To Whom It May Concern:

We are writing this letter in order to describe our experience in working with Mumtaz Anwar, whom we have known for 10 years. About three years ago we were considering having an addition built onto our home, as part of a larger project that needed to address some structural concerns of the house. The addition was a studio for the purpose of music/yoga/dance with an indoor space for a hot tub. Initially we worked with professionals who were competent in terms of the structural problems, but we were not happy with the designs they produced. In particular, they did not see the importance of augmenting or even maintaining the beautiful view we have from the rear windows of our home.

We knew if we had Mumtaz work on this project, that he would strongly consider not only the function, but would create a unique and beautiful design that would take into account the existing site's positive and negative aspects. Indeed, his design was, by far, the most innovative, attractive and appealing of all with a gorgeous hot tub area with a hexagonal skylight. At each step of the process, Mumtaz carefully asked "the right" questions; listened to and encouraged our ideas, visions, dreams and incorporated many of them into the plans for our home. Of course, he also was very practical and a good guide for us in terms of the costs of this project - making suggestions that helped us learn where we could cut costs and where it wasn't wise. We think he is masterful at both visualizing the "big picture" and being able to break a large project into smaller, more financially manageable phases with each phase having a completeness of its own.

Although we ultimately decided on a much smaller scale project as the costs of the structural repairs were much higher than initially anticipated, we enjoyed working with Mumtaz and felt that we had consulted with a professional who is very committed to his work. Even more important, it is apparent that his work excites his imagination and considerable artistic talent to the ultimate benefit of his clientele.

Sincerely,

Ira and Laurie Kamp
